The True Fae in charge. It's her who is the main star of this show and you a pawn in it. The strange part is, unless she's mad, you actually seem to like her. If you can get over your nerves. She is so true to her part while in public that some even fall into the trap of caring for their captor. Delicate, perfect, a smart conversationalist, a fantastic party thrower. Somehow she does it all. Her cruel side though is much darker. She often plays role of the victim, losing her temper in tears and fury on whomever dare ruin a perfect moment.
Role: House Wife, Mother Of Three Spouse: Richard Donovan Areas: Everywhere
This Richard was just replaced a few weeks ago. Richard #29. While he seems to be taking to the role well, he's soft spoken but alert. Even when he's lowered his eyes you get the impression he is still watching. He seems forgiving of his lovely wife, and unsure of his children, though he walks the line of their father as he needs to. June seems to be going a little harsh on this one.
Role: High Investment Banker Spouse: June Darling Areas: Downtown, City Meetings, Family Functions.
Radio, television host, He is the voice of East Haven, announcing the daily news, the weather, the events, and reminding you of the consequences of straying from your role. All done with a chipper smile and a 'yes-sir-ee' attitude. Every time you turn on the radio or television, he is there. He plays in supermarkets, screams announcements at parks, and calls you on the telephone if it's believed you've tuned him out.
Role: Ever-Present Announcer Spouse: None Areas: Everywhere there is a speaker.
Mrs. Leigh is a stern, sharp woman with attention to detail and little patience. June might be the star, but Mrs. Leigh is the one put in charge of making it happen. It's her that does checks to see if you're completing your tasks and staying where you should be. She's in charge of the Redemptionists, the training of the retrieved, and in lead with Sheriff Bently who directs The Heat. On the rare occasion she comes out of her office, you can be sure you're in trouble, though visiting her often doesn't mean anything more than checks or updates to your role.
Cheryl #264, daughter of June and Richard and newly wed to Jonathan Rodenberg. She works as a community coordinator with her mother and Louise Cavinaugh. Despite the previous Cheryl's having been likeable and loving, this one seems to have an edge causing most people not to cross her. To her husband? She couldn't be more perfect....
Role: House Wife, June's daughter. Beau: None Areas: Donovan House, Cedar Hill High School, Rosie's Diner, Lyon's Park, Montgomery Beach
Jeffrey has been here for quite a while now. A few years at least. #122, but seemingly the last for a while at least. He seems to ace his tasks, flying through his duties with ease and almost boredom. Those that talked with him when he first arrived remember something about coming from 'the future' and this place was ridiculous. He has somewhat of a mouth on him, but that never comes out when he's 'on'. One can almost tell he was quite the liar back home and got away with plenty. This cake walk, however boring, is almost too easy. He seems to know the ins and outs of East Haven, having learned them well. When he's not 'on' he's often gone entirely doing his own thing, struggling to find entertainment.
Role: Freshmen High School Student, June's son. Doll: None. Areas: Everywhere.
Maybe it's hard to screw up when you're a kid because the world as you know it is merely what's given to you. The sad part is that Wendy is only #9, and she hasn't changed for as long as anyone can remember. While still obviously mentally a child, she plays piano like a dream and speaks French. She's following in Cheryl's footsteps of taking ballet and loves her mother with all of her heart. She's not taken to the new Richard, but give it time. All children warm to their father.
Role: Child, June's daughter. Areas: Near June, Elementary School, Family Functions
He makes no means to hide that he is a proud Loyalist. He's very kind to those that follow along, but anyone caught deviating will surely be detained and written up. Not only does he give the psych evaluations if people are acting out, but he fixes the flaws of the newly retrieved. Did you have a big scar on your chest? No longer. Gap tooth? Fixed right up. Because of this, he looks at each of the Perfects as his own little creations, often getting sentimental or even touchy over his pieces of art.
Role: The Good Doctor. Spouse: Louise Cavinaugh, City Council Leader Areas: Hospital, City Functions
Perfection doesn't begin to explain her. Never sick, never tired, never without a smile. She has a tiny figure, a lovely singing voice, and leads the city committee for planning events and parties. With a set of twins, she's never short of busy. But ask her about her life before and she doesn't seem to know what you mean. She was born here at East Haven Hospital, just 26 years ago. She graduated from Ceder Hill High School and married Dr. Cavinaugh shortly there after. She's just as happy as can be. Louise Cavinaugh #1.
Role: City Council Member. Spouse: Dr. Cavinaugh Areas: Cavinaugh house, East Haven Hospital, Lyons Park, City Hall
This Sheriff has no number, because there hasn't ever been a second. He's worked for June since the beginning, taking his task seriously. June seems to favor him quite heavily, treating him the best among her Loyalists. Despite there rarely being any real crime, the man does leave his offices on occasion to take care of the violent. He goes back and forth with Mrs. Leigh on occasion for her lack of training. In the end, his is no nonsense, without any warmth, and he's not here to play the game of being a happy shiny perfect. He's here to make sure you are. His wife Martha Bentley, a sad looking woman, is rarely seen save for official city functions, and his son James is held to the highest of standards among the Perfects.
Role: The Sheriff Spouse: Martha Bentley Areas: Everywhere.
Ms. Rogers is the house wife that crawled her way back from the Wastefuls to background Switch Board Operator #79, to Nancy Rogers once again. Survival is her game and in this world, winning means being better than everyone else. She's been back a while, a popular among the housewives, but she keeps her friends close and her enemies closer. Her last three husbands committed suicide and since then Mrs. Leigh has decided to make her the only widow in East Haven. June seems to allow it as she's entertaining, but most are waiting to see how long it'll be until she gets caught and tossed back to The Yard.
Role: Widow, Socialite Spouse: None. Areas: Social parties, Lyons Park.
Andrew 'Andy' Butler is the highschool student that's going to make it big. Or so he believes. Despite none of it being real, this guy never loses sight of the goal. "Eyes on the prize." Lead singer and guitarist for his band, Afterburn Royale, often playing school and city events. To him, this is their reality now, so why not make the best of it? It doesn't have to be awful. In fact, June's given everyone a real chance at a nice life. Where Andy came from before he doesn't discuss, but everything points to it being a much worse place than East Haven.
Role: High School Student, Rockabilly. Beau: None Areas: Cedar Hill High School, Rosie's Diner, Lyon's Park
Being the son of the Sheriff is not an easy post. Despite the claims that he is not a Loyalist and Sheriff Bentley is not his real father, no one trusts the kid. He's avoided at school and at events at all costs, as people are sure he's a spy. He goes out of his way to be polite, does extra hard in school to please his teachers and offers to assist on all projects. A desperate grab for attention, yes, but most believe it's just an excuse to watch over them.
Role: High School Student, Sheriff Bentley's son. Beau: None Areas: Bentley House, Cedar Hill High School, Rosie's Diner, Montgomery Beach
Deborah is THIS close to graduating and moving on to the next step. She's been a high school senior for what must be eternity. Waiting on her next assignment from Mrs. Leigh, she's been told not enough time has passed to get to graduation with all of the resets. Once it does, she'll be given a husband and a house, but until then.. Deborah is a romantic and a dreamer, and sits in Rosie's diner lamenting about her wasted life. "All dolled up and no where to go." There is rumor she's discussed abandoning her post and throwing herself to The Yard but so far, she's holding out. Maybe there is more to the story of why.
Role: High School Girl. Beau: None Areas: Cedar Hill High School, Rosie's Diner, Lyon's Park, Montgomery Beach
It's as if he doesn't want people to succeed. Mayor Radner looks over the city with a stern glare, waiting for everyone to fail. He's Mayor Radner #12, and has been at this for quite some time. He refused a spouse, and for some reason, both June and Mrs. Leigh allow it. On occasion, he'll be seen drinking a brandy with Sheriff Bentley at The Cambell Lounge, but otherwise, he likes to walk. Walking the streets with his cane tapping, looming over The Perfects and waiting for their number to be up.
Role: Mayor Spouse: None Areas: Court House, City Hall, City Functions, The Cambell Lounge
If anyone was considered the 'good girl', it'd be Stacey. The lead waitress at Rosie's Diner. During all hours, aside from curfew, she's meant to be at Rosie's diner as it's open 7 days a week. Because of this, she tends to linger a little too long at people's tables, listening to their day to days. Even if they hardly change, at least it's something different. She seems to dream of a more daring life, but doesn't have the nerve to ask for more, and being a 'bad' waitress just isn't in her. Friendly with everyone, she's quick on her feet and happy to help. Despite many different personalities, she finds ways to manage kindness to each of them.
Role: Waitress at Rosie's Spouse: None Areas: Rosie's Diner
On the other side of the door from The Offices is Wallace. When you're tossed to The Yard, it's him that brings you down, kicking and screaming. While he doesn't block other exits, he does block this one.
Rarely does he leave the vicinity and it's him that works with Mrs. Leigh when explaining who has been helpful in retrievals. Some say he used to be June's butler, but if he was, that role has never been refilled. If you're a Wasteful looking to become a Perfect again, he is your ambassador, like it or not.
The proud owner of Misty's tea house. It's not really a tea house of course, but upon entering the bar, one finds themselves in a room that seems to reach the sky (it doesn't look this way from the outside), lined wall to wall with tea cups and tea pots. She's of course slinging the finest Arcadian alcohols procured from the Hedge Fruit that Ovid collects and trades for a few bottles of wine each month. (What is time?) She's very serious about her cocktails and works on a signature drink. There's a bottle behind the counter with crude label reading Sheriff Bentley. "That bottle is only for him."
Despite his brutish appearance, Ovid is calm, dark, character. He never seems to lose his patience, but he does always seem unimpressed, or maybe disappointed. His voice and demeanor suggest education and wisdom, but most don't get into deep conversation with him. One would expect he goes home and crushes small animals for fun, but in fact, he's a gardener and tends to a small patch near the edge of the Murk, trading his produce for other goods and favors. One can bet he will come collect should you not hold up your end of the bargain.
Formerly Cheryl #15, Ryl has been working from the moment that she got thrown into the Yard to get back. If that means taking the darkest, nastiest jobs, so be it. She's an expert in retrieval and leads The Redemptionists on the missions out, knowing the Hedge better than anyone. She's brought back babies, torn apart families, and even supplied every single Cheryl there after, though rumor has it, she's chosen poorly so they continue to fail and she might have her chance once again. She's often scouting for her crews, but overall is extremely unliked because of her history and willingness to put herself over others.
Kimbra was never anyone special and she didn't last very long. She was taken when she was a young girl and despite the brainwashing, which somehow she shook off most of, she was an ornery brat that kicked and screamed and bit people she didn't like. She was sent back to the East Haven hospital many times before being tossed to the Yard. As a child, alone, she used this same nastiness to survive,
and found her comforts among the filthy creatures in the muck. She's never been caught eating another Changeling, but that's not to say she hasn't. Everyone who spends any amount of time with her swears that she is considering how they taste.
Perry was once Hospital Assistant #39, and then Marcus St. Paul, Lead Surgeon, working along side Dr. Cavinaugh at the East Haven Hospital. Despite his passion for medicine, after seeing what was done to the people of East Haven when they were 'Away On Holiday', he slowly backed away from the role. Seeing as he was no longer up for the task, rather than demote him, Dr. Cavinaugh had him tossed to The Yard. It's only recently that he's fallen, and his appearance has yet to begin to change. He's getting a little taller, his fingers elongating but he could still pass for a Perfect quite easily. He holds his own little practice now, healing and aiding those that have come back from their raids and missions, but it's clear he's not at all happy about it.
While some in the yard might be big and scary, it's the tiny little Naomi that unsettles most everyone. Often at the side of Conrad, she helps aid in the missions topside. A quiet girl, she talks but it's most often murmurs and shrugs. When she's not shifting into someone else's visage, her face always seems to be out of proportion. Her eyes a little too big than they were before, her lips a little lopsided. While she doesn't seem to take pleasure in scaring people outright, she does seem to take a perverse pleasure into tricking others she's their loved ones, getting just as close. Even Conrad admits she gets spooky, but he seems to keep her in check.
If anyone was Hell-bent on the destruction of East Haven, it's Conrad. His story seems to go back a ways, but he gets so riled up when he speaks of it, not much detail comes out. Now he leads and organizes raids to the top, bringing supplies back to make something out of this new home in The Yard. He'd work on escaping but things like the Hedge don't make sense to his brain. He needs plans and measurements, things that the Murk don't supply. For now, catch him at Misty's Tea house, drinking and plotting the next hit to the Perfucks topside.
